Welcome to the home of the Jeff Rathgeb Scholarship Fund. The purpose of this site is to promote awareness of the scholarship that has been created to honor the teacher, mentor, and friend that is Jeff Rathgeb. We will be using this site to promote upcoming fundraising events, thank donors, and announce all the information relative to the scholarship itself.
Jeff has been battling cancer for the past 30 years. In the midst of his personal battles, he has obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, and his Master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University. He has been a loyal and dedicated teacher of Chemistry, Anatomy, Marine Biology and Life Science at Lake Worth Christian School for the past 12 years. He also sponsored the Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS), Chem-A-Thon, and was a member of the Chapel Committee. Jeff was also very instrumental in the Travel Studies program, serving on the Travel Studies Committee and chaperoning many overseas trips. In addition he assisted with all the school plays and musicals, helping to build sets and direct students behind the scenes. Along the way Jeff has lost his leg and part of both lungs to cancer. His fight has just recently come to an end. Jeff passed away early on the morning of November 25th.
It has been my privilege to be Jeff’s friend for over 27 years and in that time I have seen Jeff make a positive impact on the multitude of individuals he has come in contact with through his work, his worship, and his personal life. The world as we know it would have been a much poorer place without Jeff.
Please take a moment to browse this website, download the appropriate donation letters, and help us out by either contributing directly, or more importantly, reach out to friends, family, and business associates or local corporations, for monetary or auctionable donations to benefit the Jeff Rathgeb Scholarship Fund.
